Each month we interview one of our colleagues at CCS, so we can get to know the people behind the company a bit better. This month we caught up with Harry Oliver, who works in our fantastic Sales Support team:
“Hello, my name is Harry. I live in Luton, Bedfordshire with my wife Joanne and my 15 month old son Charlie. I’ve worked for Corona since June last year.
Outside of work my time is currently mostly taken up with changing nappies, not getting anywhere near enough sleep, having food thrown at me, along with the many other pleasures that come with being a new dad! 😉
When I do manage to get a little time to myself, I still enjoy travel and being outside as much as possible, and I’m a really keen rock climber. I also enjoy playing football (although I’m no longer as good as I once was!) and my favourite team is West Ham (Which can be rather hard work at times!)
Favourite singers / groups– I enjoy lots of different groups/singers ranging from The Beatles, Queen, Bob Dylan, & David Bowie who I grew up with my parents listening to, through to Oasis, Blur and the Stereophonics who conjure memories of my school/college days (I might be giving away my age a bit there…) and more recently the Arctic Monkeys, amongst many more. It’s very difficult to pin down a particular ‘favourite’.
Favourite songs / Albums – On the album front, largely for nostalgic value, I’d have to go with Stereophonics – Word Gets Around, Ash – 1977, or Oasis – (What’s the Story) Morning Glory?. Favourite song is so hard to narrow down, as there are so many great songs, but for me The Beatles – Yesterday, Queen – Bohemian Rhapsody, and Ash – Girl form Mars are all up there; a guilty pleasure of mine is 99 Red Balloons by Nena.
Favourite Films – I really enjoy sitting down to watch a good film (or at least I did when I had time!) Some of my favourites are True Romance, The Usual Suspects, and The Shawshank Redemption. I also have to watch It’s a Wonderful Life every Christmas; it just doesn’t feel like Christmas otherwise. A good film I watched recently was BlacKkKlansman
Favourite Actor / Actresses – Robert Downey Jnr, Tom Hanks, Julia Roberts, Robert De Niro, Denzel Washington, Charlize Theron, Tom Hardy. I always strangely enjoy anything with the Rock in too…
Favourite TV shows – After Life with Ricky Gervais is really good, and manages to make you sad and laugh out loud in equal measure. Other programs that I’ve enjoyed watching are Game of Thrones (Not sure about the last series), The Walking Dead, and Chernobyl. I also like to watch anything outdoorsy like Ed Stafford, Bear Grylls, and Ben Fogle. We’ve recently finished watching the second Series of Westworld which was brilliant.
Favourite Holiday Destination – I love to travel. We try to go off the beaten track when we can, and tend to rough it a bit when we go away. Some of my favourite destinations have been Nepal, Borneo, and Fiji. Closer to home, Italy, Croatia & Greece are all wonderful places for a little bit of relaxation, and a lot of food & drink.
Favourite Drink – I drink far far too much Pepsi Max Cherry
Favourite Book/ Authors – When I get a chance I usually read non-fiction; things by the likes of Richard Dawkins, Noam Chomsky, and Christopher Hitchens. Sapiens by Yuval Noah Harari was one that I found really interesting.
Favourite Animal – I would have to say our two cats, Peach and Lola. They wouldn’t forgive me if I didn’t.
I’m really enjoying working at Corona. Everyone, has been very welcoming, which has helped immeasurably with the transition and integrating into the new team. Long may it continue”
