Tu Go

With the launch of Wi-Fi and 4G Calling on many current and new devices, it now means that O2 customers can make and receive calls when connected to Wi-Fi without the use of an additional app. With that in mind, O2 have made the decision to close the TU Go service on 30 November from which time customers will not be able to access the app.

What you need to know
As part of the TU Go service, a user’s messages and call records are stored in the TU Go app and can be accessed at any time. There may be a small number of users who use TU Go as a means to store sentimental or important messages. Once TU Go has closed, or the user has moved to Wi-Fi and 4G Calling, there’s no way to subsequently access any of that information – it will be deleted.

Unfortunately not all customers will have compatible devices.

The following phones will allow you to use Wi-Fi Calling without the need for an additional app:
iPhone 8, 7, 6S, 6, and SE (including Plus models), Samsung Galaxy S8, S8+, S7, S7 edge and Note 8*, Sony XZ Premium, XZ1 and XZ1 Compact* *Android devices must be using the O2 firmware in order to work with Wi-Fi Calling.

O2 are continuing to extend the handsets that they offer with Wi-Fi Calling capabilities and will be sharing more information on this soon.

International Calling products

O2 constantly review their products to ensure that they offer flexibility and value for money, and as a result, they’ve decided to close their International Calling services – International Favourites, International Extras and International Calling Card – on 30 November.

The O2 website will be updated with information about the closure of International services.

What this means:
During November, customers will still be able to make calls to use up any outstanding allowance or credit. O2 will notify all customers of the impending closures via SMS to give them sufficient time to use any remaining credit or minutes allocation.

From 1 November customers with International Favourites and International Extras won’t be able to renew their subscription. There won’t be a charge to customers for their final month of service.

From closure dates customers will no longer be able to call via the IVR of the services or call forwarding numbers they may have set up.

International Favourites customers will also lose their Call Me number.
