Last year Corona Corporate Solutions were invited to sponsor one of our valued clients, VMI, in two bikes rides they were organising in aid of the landmine charity MAG (Mines Advisory Group). This year when we were approached for sponsorship, we were more than happy to jump on the bike.
The first ‘Superheroes’ ride, a 14 hour 223km journey from London to Bristol earlier this summer.
The second ride took place in September cycling for two days over 154 miles from London to Amsterdam.
The team of four took on the first part of their journey cycling over 100 miles through beautiful countryside, the weather was thankfully on their side with an abundance of sunshine, helped by a strong tailwind they quickly arrived at Harwich where the boarded the overnight ferry.
The next day was more grueling, cycling 53 miles through heavy winds and rain but the team battled on and managed to make it to Amsterdam where they were greeted with a well-earned Rijstafel.
The team have raised an astonishing £19,200 for MAG so far and are just under the target of £20,000
Every day 18 people are maimed or killed by landmines. The tragedy is that mostly this affects children, who are just playing. These innocent lives are taken away or changed forever.
MAG has removed more than 4.7 million landmines and unexploded items.
We are proud to once again be able to support this great cause and to have our logo on the cycle jerseys.
