We’re always on the lookout for ways we can support our employees, inside and outside of work, so when our Recycling & Logistics Co-ordinator, Natasha O’Malley, informed us that her daughter’s Irish Dancing school were in need of a sponsor for their annual Feis, we were delighted to step in.
The Carragher Academy of Irish Dance, based in Bermondsey, was established in 2002, teaching children from as young as 4 years old the ways of the traditional Irish dance. Part of the Celtic Association of Irish Dance (CAID), whilst their passion is for traditional dance, they do a lot of shows using different styles and music and the Academy won a Southwark Civic award in 2014 for the work they do in the local community.
Earlier this month the Academy hosted their annual Feis at Bacon’s College, South London. It was a long day, starting at 8am, running non-stop right through to 8pm that evening. The girls and boys who attended came from as far afield as Scotland and Cornwall to compete and amongst the competitors were World Championship Dancers.
Corona was proud to provide the fleet of beautiful trophies for all the winners & runner’s up on the day.
A fabulous day was had by all and we’d like to congratulate all the dancers, parents and organisers on a very successful event.
