Recently, our Chairman, James Stephens, and his wife, Kathryn, attended the Shooting Star Chase Ball, an evening of glitz and glamour held to support the fantastic work that Shooting Star Chase do caring for babies, children and young people with life-limiting conditions, and their families, living in London and Surrey.
Joining the likes of Dame Joan Collins, Simon Cowell and Lauren Silverman, James and Kathryn spent the evening at The Dorchester Hotel in London tucking into a five course meal prepared by executive chef Henry Brosi whilst enjoying performances from Lee Ryan, Britain’s Got Talent’s Connie Talbot, Grammy & Emmy award winning artist, Kipper Eldrige and (a Vice President of Shooting Star Chase himself) Tony Hadley.
The main event, and reason everyone was there, was the live auction, where items such as a dress worn by Dame Joan Collins in Dynasty and a private box at the Royal Albert Hall to see Tony Hadley in concert with the South Bank Philharmonic Orchestra, were on offer to the highest bidder.
James and Kathryn were delighted to represent Corona Corporate Solutions and make a significant contribution, helping the Charity raise just under £200,000 over the course of the evening.
Shooting Star Chase supports families from diagnosis to end of life & throughout bereavement, their service is free of charge and available 365 days a year. It costs over £10 million a year to maintain the current level of care that they provide, a small percentage of which comes from government funding, the rest is by the generosity of supporters, volunteers and guests at evenings such as the Ball.
